Welcome to the Unkya Community Reserve
The Unkya Community Reserve is a unique, picturesque and fully functional public reserve situated in the middle of the two villages of Eungai at the southern end of Nambucca Shire.
The Reserve is managed by the Unkya Reserve Management Committee (Section 355 Committee) – which is a voluntary organisation made up of local, community minded people who volunteer their time and expertise. The committee is responsible for the management of ‘Unkya Reserve’ on behalf of Nambucca Shire Council.
The philosophy of the committee is to provide a meeting place for building a strong and vibrant community.
The committee’s focus is to develop and improve this beautiful reserve to be a more widely functional space for all in the community to appreciate and utilise. Whether it be a stop off for a picnic lunch under the trees, a sports event, a private gathering, or to practice your golf swing…Unkya Reserve lends itself for many uses. NEW PLAYGROUND The untidy heap that used to be found behind the canteen at Unkya Reserve has been transformed into a beautiful natural playscape. Thanks to Dave, Karina, Alex, Claire, Jess, Adrian, Kosta, Shaz and Mark for their back breaking support in getting the playground looking so fantastic. It really looks amazing and so a very big thanks to all of you. The communities surrounding Unkya and throughout the Nambucca & Macleay Valleys can enjoy this truly natural playscape as it will offer something for everyone - from playground equipment, a serene picnic area, a simply beautiful place - to relax and catch up with friends and family. Fabulous job. Well done. The NSW State Government and the Nambucca Shire Council as well as the Unkya Reserve Committee of Managment have funded this latest project at Unkya Reserve. Without their support this would not have been possible. We extend our thanks and appreciation.
